31 Wilsons Promontory National Park

one of the many idyllic spots in the Wilsons Promontary National Park
kids have a great time jumping off the bridge!
Today we visited the Wilsons Promontary National Park. It is a good size park with lots of campsites, beach access and hiking trails. Since it was Saturday, there were a lot of people - families with children, photography club members with their serious gear, hikers, bird watchers, you name it ...

not sure if you can see the photographers with serious
gear on the left, they are all over the park
We decided to hike to a nearby lookout.  The walk was OK, but there was not much to see. The second lookout was a disappointment as it has only two big rocks and they were occupied by two groups of youngsters.  Worst of all, the view was just so so. We then drove to beach. It had some big rocks on one side and offered some interesting photo opportunities. The rock surfaces were all carved up by the waves, and were quite interesting to look at.

We had originally planned to check out the nocturnal animals / insects at the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park this evening.  Since it was on our way to the hotel, we stopped to check out the place.  We were fortunate that we stopped by - they were sold out for the day!

The apartment hotel was perfect - we got to catch up on our laundry (even though the dryer was not working too good). Dinner was at a restaurant by the bay and we got to enjoy a beautiful sunset view.
